Mantras are religious Hindu script or poems or words written in Sanskrit language. Mantra began in India with Vedic Hinduism and was later adopted by the Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains. Now-a-days these mantras are used in newer religions also. Mantra can be of only one word like the famous and the largely magnified \"OM\" mantra. This word originally being A-U-M is really signifying the three gods that are very important in Hinduism. The three gods are Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, the constructor, destructor and the preserver. I remember reading a newspaper article about a person who lost all he had and for the first time in his life became really happy and free. At that time I thought this could not be true because I wrongly assumed that material things bring happiness. I now know that material things do not influence how much happiness you feel, no matter how many nice things you have. In the past I used to go shopping all the time. I used to spend more than I earned but no matter how much new stuff I bought, after a short-lived happiness, I felt as miserable as always, or even more miserable. I couldn't understand why I felt this way. After all, I had all this new and exciting stuff. Material things are[..]

ng back on Thai history, we see clearly the close relationship between Buddhism and the Thai nation. The history of the Thai nation is also the history of Buddhism. The Thai nation originated over 2,000 years ago. Also in that same period Buddhism came and has played an important part in the Thai history ever since. The Thai nation settled firmly in present-day Thailand 700 years ago. Also seven centuries ago it adopted the present form of Buddhism. Buddhism is still the state religion of Thailand. Under the Constitution, the King, as a symbol of the nation, although protector of all religions, must be a Buddhist. According to the latest census, the total population of Thailand is 48[..]

This spiritual code or Dharma is at the heart of Hinduism and governs the moral and spiritual practices of its believers.
